Our History

Mladenova winery was established in 2000 by Mladen Mihailov in the small Danube town of Tutrakan - surprisingly interesting with its millenary history, preserved traditions and spirit.

The vineyards in the steep terroirs along the Danube are cultivated through intensive manual labour by the family of vine-growers who are the true heroes of the winery Mastery, sustainability and unique biodiversity are the pillars of the vineyards that Mladenova Izba preserves.

The hallmark of Mladenova Izba is excellence achieved through a drive for innovation, in-depth knowledge and a deep respect for terroir. In this breathtaking landscape, the journey of Mladenova Izba wines begins as each bottle tells a unique story of the land, the people and the winemaking tradition.

Covering an area of more than 100 hectares, Mladenova Izba's vineyards are located close to two natural treasures - the Danube River and the Kalimock - Bršlen protected area near the town of Tutrakan.

Temperatures in this region are favorable for a moderate amount of sugar and acid to build up in the grapes, giving the wine a balance of fruit sensation and tartness. Mladenova Izba prides itself on the quality of its white grape varieties such as Tamyanka, Dimyat, Racitelli, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel and Traminer.

The high quality technology that Mladenova Izba has at its disposal guarantees uncompromising quality in every bottle.

The winery uses state-of-the-art monitoring systems to monitor weather conditions, soil moisture levels and vine health. In the winemaking facilities, precise temperature and humidity controllers maintain optimal fermentation conditions using modern stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, carefully selected to enhance each wine's unique characteristics.

To ensure consistency and consistency, the winery uses a comprehensive digital tracking system that records every stage of the winemaking process.
